How to book your free sessions to check shoeboxes at the Processing Centre

Simply select the date you’re interested in and then click ‘Register’ to see and select tickets for each shift you’re interested in (dont be put off by the fact they all say 10am). You can book multiple shifts on one day but to book for different days you will need to start from the home page again.

If booking for a group you do not need their details yet and you can edit numbers through eventbrite at any time so reserve your space now before days start to fill up.

We appreciate that sometimes your availability may not match a full shift but where possible we do ask people to use the booking system as it helps us to improve our volunteer experience. Just advise us on arrival if you are likely to need to leave early.

An amazing experience at our processing centre in the heart of England

A vital part of the Operation Christmas Child year takes place behind the scenes in the immediate weeks that follow drop-off locations being open. It’s during this period that thousands of generous supporters donate their time to manually check hundreds of thousands of shoeboxes for safety and customs compliance before they’re sent to children in need around the world.

Thanks to the financial support of Operation Christmas Child International Headquarters, we are delighted to have acquired a five-year lease on fixed premises in the West Midlands. This allows us to make our volunteers feel at home and set ourselves up for maximum efficient processing.

We are able to comfortably accommodate 70 volunteers at a time during processing season and full training is provided. You’ll be supported by experienced supervisors and each of our ‘team tables’ can fit up to 12 people. All this means you’ll be able to enjoy a sense of community and team spirit with around an amazing 150 shoeboxes per hour can be checked.

We welcome individuals, families, work groups, church groups indeed anyone who can spare a few hours to make a difference whilst having fun.

After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said “Go and do likewise.” That is the mission of Samaritan’s Purse – to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.

Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief and development organisation that works through local churches to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God amongst communities in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. We are part of the global Samaritan’s Purse family that has been providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world since 1970. Samaritan’s Purse also has offices in the USACanadaGermany, and Australia.

You may have come across our Operation Christmas Child initiative, which thousands of churches, schools and businesses across the UK are already part of. Alongside sending shoeboxes overseas, we respond in a distinctly Christian way to issues facing people in the places where we work: issues like water and sanitation and sustainable livelihoods along with disasters and emergencies.

OUR DISTINCTIVES…

We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We’re committed to seeing this Gospel shared in the form of both words (that can change spiritual circumstances) and acts of mercy (that can change physical circumstances).

Where possible, we work through local churches – seeing them as God’s chosen instrument to bring hope to a hurting world. We work to raise them up to bring lasting hope to people in impoverished communities around our world.

We choose to work in partnership – which is why we are always looking to inspire and encourage others to join with us in being part of God’s global mission. We know that each individual can bring their own talents, gifts and unique contribution – no matter how small – to this great work to which we have been called.

OUR VISION…

Our vision is to see transformation – of both individual lives and whole communities. We long to see people restored in their relationship with God and with each other and for their circumstances to be turned around.

OUR GLOBAL MISSION STATEMENT…

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organisation providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organisation serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
